Modern Acupuncture

Modern Acupuncture refers to the insertions and manipulations of fine needles into points on the body. New, sterile single-use needles are used on each patient.

Modern Acupuncture is based on modern anatomy such as muscles, ligaments and joints. It has no element of mysticism or association with meridian lines. Depending on the nature of your problem- acupuncture can be applied as a sole treatment method or can be combined with osteopathy. Combination therapy usually works well at speeding up recovery from aches, pain, stiffness and injuries.

Osteo NHC only use new, sterile single-use needles.

Modern acupuncture uses:

  • Pain relief - by interfering with pain signals to the brain and by causing the release of endorphins (natural pain killers)
  • Good for the immune system
  • Helps with psychological tension, by producing a calming effect
  • Balances the nervous and hormonal system, giving a regulatory effect
  • It is an alternative treatment method
  • Works for conditions where Osteopathy, Naturopathy, drugs or other therapies, has little or no effect.
